A custom Help page for Perch CMS

Posted on by Clive Walker in Perch

I wrote this post a while back. The content can still be relevant but the information I've linked to may not be available.

There are several ways to add Help text to Perch CMS page templates and regions. But, did you know, it's also possible to add a custom Help page for your users? Yes, there's a Setting for that!

A link to the default Perch Help page is on the top menu bar next to the Log Out button. The URL for this link can be changed to your own Help page. This would be useful to showcase Help tips that are important or especially relevant to your site's users, for example screencast videos.

In Perch -> Settings, there's a Help button URL field. Just add your own Help page link here, for example /help.php perhaps. This page could also be part of the Perch pages for your site so that users could add their own tips.
